A resident may contact the maintenance office with any apartment-related repairs or concerns. Maintenance staff must enter the apartment for an annual furnace inspection and repairs at Orchard Downs and Ashton Woods apartments. The procedures for contacting maintenance are slightly different for emergency and non-emergency situations, so please read the following instructions carefully.
Non-Emergency Maintenance Requests
For any non-emergency maintenance needs, please submit a request for services online. You may also access this page from anywhere on the housing.illinois.edu site by clicking the “Maintenance Request” link located at the bottom of any Housing webpage. If you do not have access to a computer, you may come to the Family & Graduate Housing Office to use the lobby computer.

Lockout
If you are locked out of your apartment during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.), you can obtain a loaner key at the Family & Graduate Housing Office. There is no charge for this service. You will be asked to provide photo identification. If a child requests a loaner key and can be left in the apartment alone, staff may ask the child for some information that would be found in their family’s file. Loaner keys must be returned to the Family & Graduate Housing Office immediately after the apartment is opened, or a lock change will occur the next business morning at a cost to the resident.
