We want to make sure you have all of the information you need to get your Housing Contract completed and submitted by the May 8 priority deadline to select your room and roommate!

» Between Admission and May 8

Step 1: Submit your housing contract. 48 hours after you accept your offer of admission to Illinois, You can visit our how to apply page to complete your contract. During this step, you will:

• Complete your Roommate Matching Profile.
• Indicate your preference to live in an LLC and submit the required essay.
• Indicate your preference to live in a special living option or housing accommodation.
• Submit the $100 non-refundable application fee.

If you do not submit your contract by the May 8 priority deadline, we will pick a room and roommate for you based on the available space and roommate matching. You get to select your meal plan.

Students in need of medical or ADA accommodation must apply for services through the Division of Disability Resources & Educational Services (DRES) to request a DRES-issued letter of Accommodation and submit to Housing by the May 8 priority deadline. 

» Late May

Step 2: Select your room, roommate and meal plan. If you submit your contract by the May 8 priority deadline, you will be randomly assigned an entry time to select your room, roommate and meal plan.
A randomized entry time will be sent to your Illinois email address with instructions on when and how to log in and choose your room.

» Early June

All contracts received after May 8 will be processed for assignment in order of the date completion. 

» Early July

Room confirmations are sent. You will receive your room and roommate confirmation, via your Illinois email address. A room freeze will begin once confirmations are sent. This means from early July until mid-September, room changes will not be permitted.

The Housing Information Office will facilitate a room swap process from July 7 - 31.
