Florida Avenue Residence Halls (FAR)

Florida Avenue Residence Halls (Oglesby and Trelease) may be known as FAR, but you’ll get nothing but closer to your inclusive, multicultural community when you choose this Urbana South residence hall. Sure, it’s a little farther from the north side of campus, but it’s close to the places you and your new friends may want to spend your free time: basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, the Arboretum, and the charming neighborhoods of Urbana. Besides, when you live at FAR, buses come right to your door. FAR also hosts the Health Professions and Women in Math, Science, and Engineering (WIMSE) Living-Learning Communities.

During the academic year when students are present, the front desk will be open from 6 a.m. – 3 a.m. When the front desk is not staffed, students can still call the front desk number. The call will be answered by a calling service able to help with general questions and emergencies and assist students who may have lost their i-card and be locked out of their building and room.
