Course Information

A major benefit of living in Honors LLC is the opportunity to enroll in our on- and off-site courses.
Many of our courses meet general education requirements while others are elective credit depending on your academic program.

Honors LLC Required Course – CHP 199: Uncommon Reads

All first-year Honors LLC residents must enroll in CHP 199: Uncommon Reads. This 8-week, one credit-hour course explores social justice topics. The CRNs associated with CHP 199 include: 67347, 67348, 67349, 67350, 67351, and 73571. All sections of the course will meet in ISR.

Study Abroad – ENG 177: Global Sustainable Community Development (CRN 71588 ONLY)

About the course: Join us for an interdisciplinary classroom working with an NGO on global sustainable community development in Jamaica! Develop your cultural intelligence skills and gain a global understanding while building invaluable cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills. There is a two week faculty-led program attached to this course that will occur in January.

This course may substitute your CHP 199 course requirement for the Honors LLC. It may also count as James Scholars credit; however, you must make arrangements for an HCLA contract to be completed at the start of the semester. See your academic advisor for assistance with an HCLA.
