We offer multiple options for both living and dining to help fit your budget and provide you with the best possible experience when Living the Illini Life!
Residence Hall Constant Rate
Our Constant Rate Program is designed to give you more affordable housing options and make it easier to plan financially. Constant rate means that the room and board rates from the year you enter to live with us will still apply for up to four years as long as you live continuously in our residence halls.
In the future, if you select a different room type or meal plan, you will pay for those choices based on the rate structure from your first year with Housing.
Rates for the following academic year will be made available in the spring after Board approval.

Please Note:
- Rates are for both semesters of the academic year. You are required to honor your contract if you attend the University. Refer to your residence hall contract terms for cancellation policies. You are encouraged to read the contract terms carefully before signing.
- Cost estimates provided on Financial Aid notifications calculate an estimated cost for housing of $14,522 based on an average room rate and the All Classic Meal plan.
- Constant Rate: If you live continuously with University Housing, your rate structure will stay locked in at the 2024–2025 rates (for up to 4 consecutive years). In the future, if you select a different room type or meal plan with University Housing, you will pay the 2024–2025 rate structure for those choices. Residents who reassign to an LLC in years where the fee increases will see an increase in their total charge even though their room and board rate will remain constant.
- Living-Learning Communities: a fee supports the co-curricular and extracurricular learning opportunities in these communities.
- Allen/Unit One--add $326 per academic year

- Global Crossroads--add $200 per academic year

The rates below apply to students who are new to University Housing in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 or those who have not lived continuously with University Housing. 2025 spring-only contracts are 50% of the rates below.
Cost estimates provided on Financial Aid notifications calculate an estimated cost for graduate professional housing of $14,980 based on a median room rate and the All Classic Meal plan.

The rates below have been approved by the Board of Trustees.
All rates shown below are for rental of the entire apartment. Residents who choose to have a roommate (co-tenant) will each be responsible for signing their own lease and paying their own deposit. During the time roommates (co-tenants) are living together, they will each be charged one-half of the total monthly rent due for the apartment. During the time a resident is not living with a roommate (co-tenant), they will be charged the total monthly rent due for the apartment.
