There are 10 unique living-learning communities within University Housing residence halls. Our LLC residents enjoy experiential learning opportunities in a living space designed to create meaningful connections.
Being part of a living-learning community will connect you instantly to a group of peers with similar interests and help you make the most of your Illinois experience, both inside and outside the classroom.

Members of each LLC live together on specific floors of designated residence halls featuring exceptional amenities, which can include dedicated lounges, workspaces, makerspaces for artistic pursuits and a variety of other resources.

LLC members have enhanced educational opportunities, such as priority access to popular, for-credit courses offered right where they live! These typically feature smaller class sizes and greater access to faculty.

Early Arrival, Quick Connections
As part of an LLC, you'll have the chance to move to campus before other new and returning residents. LLC residents get to settle in and begin making friends right away during an orientation, which includes several fun, social events!

Being a member of an LLC means having exclusive access to a wide range of popular courses with small class sizes, some of which are held in your residence hall! Earn credits in classes with your friends without leaving your neighborhood!

How to Apply
In your Housing contract, you will indicate your preference to live in an LLC. You will then complete a short LLC essay to apply, in which you describe what you hope to gain from living in an LLC and what you plan to contribute to the community. To be considered, you must complete your contract and essay by the May 8 priority deadline.
