Spring Break Housing Information
Do you need to stay on campus over spring break? We have some housing options and break meal plans available for you! Remember to make your reservation in advance, as space is limited.
The undergraduate residence halls close on March 16 at 3 p.m. and open March 24 at 9 a.m.. Spring break accommodations are available March 16–24, 2019.
Complete a Spring Break Housing Contract
The deadline to complete a spring break housing contract is March 15 at 10:30 a.m. If you are interested in signing up for University break housing, complete the Spring Break Housing Contract form online. There are a limited number of spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis.
After March 16, break housing will be only provided if any spaces remain or become available due to cancellations.

Any student without a Break Housing Contract who accesses a building during a break period will be assessed the full break housing charge amount. In addition, any student who accesses a hall without a Break Housing Contract will be referred to either the Residential Life judicial process or to the University Police for trespassing.
The rate is $40 per night. The non-refundable charge will be billed to your student account unless the reservation is canceled by 11:59 p.m. on March 15. To cancel, log back into the Break Housing Contract and click on the link to cancel the contract.
- To change/decrease the number of days staying over break, changes need to be completed by 11:59 p.m. on March 15.
- To add days before the deadline, please log into the Break Housing Contract and make the necessary adjustments.
- To add days after the deadline, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request.
NOTE: There is no additional charge for spring break housing for Global Crossroads LLC residents. You must still submit a Break Housing Contract.

Residents requesting break housing will be housed in a limited number of converted lounge spaces in Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls (PAR) and Snyder Hall. Lounge spaces in Florida Avenue Residence Halls (FAR) lounge will also be available as needed. Each lounge will have a bed for each break resident (4 students will be assigned to each lounge). Bunked beds are provided.
Current residents of PAR, Snyder Hall and FAR will be permitted to remain in their own rooms during the break; however, current residents must still submit a Break Housing Contract.
If you need ADA special accommodations, please indicate that on your Break Housing Contract and contact the Housing Information Office.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
On March 16, check-in at PAR, FAR and Snyder will start at 9 a.m.
On all other days, you may check-in between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. at the front desk.
Please check out and remove all things from your assigned break room by 9 a.m. on the day you plan to depart. No storage of personal items is permitted in break rooms after your contract has ended.
DESK OPERATIONS & RA ON-DUTY HOURS
The PAR and Snyder desks are open 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily during the break periods. FAR break residents should contact the PAR desk for assistance.
An RA is on duty every day 10 a.m.–10 p.m. and is available by phone from the exterior callbox to let someone in who arrives to their break housing hall in advance of opening. The desk or RA on duty will assist the resident in completing the Break Housing Contract on arrival.
BREAK MEAL PACKAGE
Break housing residents may purchase an optional Break Meal Package that includes 19 meals over break for a flat rate of $150. Meals will be served in the PAR Dining Hall.
Meals begin with brunch on Sunday, March 17 and end with dinner on Saturday, March 23. The non-refundable charge will be billed to your student account unless the reservation is canceled by 11:59 p.m. on March 15. Global Crossroads LLC residents who select the meal plan will receive a charge for $150 on their student account for the meal portion of the contract.
Meal plan access will be coded on to your i-card. Break housing residents at PAR, Snyder, and FAR will have card access to PAR during meal periods.

PURCHASE INDIVIDUAL MEALS
If you are not staying for the entire break or you don't want a Break Meal Package, you may purchase meals individually with a credit/debit card or with Illini Cash. Cafe Credit is not available during this time.
Standard door rates will apply for meals purchased with Illini Cash:
- Breakfast: $9.21
- Lunch/Brunch: $11.72
- Dinner: $15.26
