Illinois Library Policy on Overdue Items & Materials
Once an item reaches 35 days overdue (most items) or 10 days overdue (loanable technology), the Library considers the item to have been lost by the borrower, and the borrower's account is charged for the replacement of the item: $125 (for books) or $300 (for serials). Some items may be charged at a higher amount. This charge is usually cancelled if the item is returned.
All borrowers, including faculty and staff, are charged for overdue reserve material. Overdue fines for 2-hour reserve loans are $5.00/hour; overdue fines for 24 hour reserve loans are $5.00/day.
