TVs and Video Game Consoles

TVs

As long as it fits through your door and your roommate is okay with it, you can bring your TV to the residence halls. TVs are also available in various lounges throughout the residence halls for watching TV, giving presentations, and playing video games with your community.

Video Game Consoles

Video game consoles are welcome in the halls, just like TVs. If you don't wish to bring one, some residence hall front desks and libraries have them available for borrowing.

Connecting digital media players, smart TVs, and video game consoles to the Internet

You can connect media streaming devices (e.g. Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku), smart TVs, and video game consoles to the Internet through IllinoisNet_Guest. In order to do so, you must first register your device's wireless MAC address (i.e. hardware address, physical address). MAC addresses are 12 numbers/letters from A through F that might have colons/dashes/periods between them. They might be found in the settings under "About" or "Network".
