Busey-Evans involvement opportunities include Mariama, Busey-Evans Hall Council, Women on a Mission, and Community Conversations lead by the Busey-Evans Multicultural Advocate.
Busey-Evans Hall Council is a group designed to provide residents with a great leadership opportunity to host various social and educational events and aid in funding hall-wide programs that focus on building community! These programs include RA/MA events and initiatives, as well as events planned by residents for residents. We meet Mondays from 8–9 p.m. in the basement MPR.
Mariama is the Black Student Union (BSU) housed in Busey-Evans. Mariama aims to foster a comfortable environment and brave space for residents who identify as black to create a positive impact in their lives, discuss common and pertinent issues or experiences within the black community, and create events that cater to ongoing learning, support, and fun within Busey-Evans. We meet Wednesdays from 9:15–10:15 p.m. in the basement MPR.
Women on a Mission is a group within the hall focused on empowering the women of Busey-Evans by providing an outlet for discussion and events on various topics that affect modern women. We meet Tuesdays from 9–10 p.m. in the basement MPR.
Community Conversations are weekly engagement opportunities lead by our Multicultural Advocate that provide students with a space to dialogue and learn from one another on topics of social justice, inclusion, and current events. We meet Wednesdays from 5–6 p.m. in the basement MPR.
