Rates and Billing
Budgeting is easier with University Housing's constant rate program! The room and board rates from the year your student enters University Housing will still apply for up to four years as long as they live continuously in University Housing’s residence halls. In the future, if you select a different room type or meal plan is selected, you will pay for those choices based on the rate structure from the first year with Housing. See the Rates page for room and board information.
Housing contracts can be submitted online after the student has accepted the University's offer of admission. A $150 advance payment and $50 non-refundable application fee is required when the student submits his or her contract.
If the student received the application fee waiver when applying to the University through Admissions, the $50 application fee for University Housing is waived and the $150 advance payment is deferred until the first bill is due. The Housing Information Office will charge the $150 advance payment to the student account along with the room and meal plan charges, and it will be due in September.
The $150 advance payment is deducted from the spring semester's housing charge in January.
Fall semester housing is charged to the student's account in August and will show on the E-Bill in September along with tuition and fees. Spring semester housing is charged to the student's account in January and will show on the E-Bill in February along with tuition and fees. Payment options are available on the University Student Financial Services & Cashier Operations website at http://paymybill.uillinois.edu.
