Working for Residential Life
Greetings from the staff in Residential Life at the University of Illinois!
We are very excited that you are interested in learning about our residence hall communities and the diverse, highly talented, hard-working, caring, and fun professionals who always have the needs of students in the forefront of their minds.
The Illinois Residential Experience affords each resident the opportunity to succeed both in and out of the classroom. We have intentional strategies to help our students explore the dynamic world around them and how they not only fit into it but can learn how to lead from within it. Through very strong partnerships with the academic colleges as well as our student affairs partners we are able to offer our residents programs, resources and services that will help them be prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
Most importantly, we work with our residents to make the halls a home. Whether they are from overseas or from a hometown just down road in Illinois, we want the residence hall experience here to feel comfortable, safe, celebratory and welcoming for all. Each one of our staff members is absolutely committed to inclusion and social justice. This is the most critical part of our work.
You can explore more about our residential curriculum through various online resources, but the best way is to come for a visit. We hope you will join us as a part of our team!
Please feel free to contact our office if you have questions. We’ll do all we can to help you. Hope to see you soon in Urbana-Champaign!
