The starting wage for students is $10 an hour. On January 1 2021, the starting wage will go up to $11 an hour. Dining jobs qualify for Federal Work Study.

Working where you live makes your life easier. Assist with meal preparation and service at any of the dining halls. Dining Services also has retail locations offering carry-out, convenience items, or coffee shops.

University Catering

Catering staff provide upscale banquet service for events at the I Hotel Conference Center, Illini Union, and various locations across campus. Black dress pants and all-black shoes are required for working with Catering. Please note that you must supply yourself with these items before you can begin work and should have them prior to your first shift. All Catering employees are required to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.
