Winter Break Housing Information
University Housing Winter Break Options
Do you need to stay on campus over winter break? We have some options available for you. Remember to make your reservation in advance, as space is limited.
University Housing's undergraduate residence halls close on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. and officially open Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Winter break accommodations are available Saturday, December 17, 2016 to Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Residents who stay after break housing concludes or return for early arrival housing between January 11 at noon and January 15 at 9:00 a.m. will be subject to early arrival charges of $40 per night.
Only current residents of Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls (PAR) and Illinois Street Residence Halls (ISR) will be permitted to remain in their own room during the break; however, these residents still must submit a break housing contract and will be subject to the same charges.
The deadline to apply online for winter break housing contract is Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
The break housing rate is $40.00 per night. The non-refundable charge will be billed to your student account unless the reservation is canceled by noon on Friday, December 16, 2016.
Please note: There is no additional charge for winter break housing for Global Crossroads residents; however you must still complete a winter break housing contract.
Residents requesting break housing will be housed in a limited number of converted lounge spaces in ISR or PAR (except current residents of ISR and PAR). Each lounge will have a bed for each break resident (4 to 5 students will be assigned to each lounge). Students who request to stay one or two nights will be assigned to a lounge in PAR. Check-in at ISR and PAR will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016.
The deadline to return an online winter break housing contract is Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
If you are interested in making a reservation for University break housing, complete the break housing contract form online. There are a limited number of spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. After the deadline, break housing will be provided should spaces remain or become available due to cancellations. Contact the ISR front desk (333-4640) or PAR front desk (333-2950) for space availability.
Any student without a break housing contract who accesses a building during a break period will be assessed the full break housing charge amount. In addition, any student who accesses a hall without a Break Housing contract will also be referred to either the Residential Life judicial process or to the University Police for trespassing.
Check-in at ISR and PAR will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016.
