Leadership Certificate & Leadership Studies Minor

Leadership Certificate

A Leadership Certificate is a tool for you to record and document your leadership experiences at the University of Illinois. The process of creating a portfolio will help you identify your strengths and areas for growth, as well as articulate your personal philosophy of leadership. The end product can be a great resource for you as you create a resume and search for a job or internship.

Contact a LEADS staff member for more information on obtaining a Leadership Certificate or visit the Illinois Leadership Center's website for more information.

Minor in Leadership Studies

A minor in Leadership Studies is available to all undergraduate students in good standing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The minor provides an undergraduate student in any field of study with formal instruction in the study of the theory of leadership and its practice. This is a 17-18 credit hour minor (6 courses total).

We are happy to offer a section of the first foundational course for this minor, AGED 260: Introduction to Leadership Studies, just for students in the LEADS community! This is a great opportunity to start connecting your leadership development with your academic coursework, and to take this course with your fellow residents.
